"Adventures" with My iPhone

As a passionate photographer, when I go out on photoshoots, I typically bring my professional equipment with me, because it gives me the greatest amount of tools to makes the images I want and the image quality is superb.  Occasionally though, usually around my hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY, I head out without my camera and just use my handy iPhone to snap photos of my surroundings.  I typically use the Lightroom app to capture a raw file, and then I bring it back to my computer to edit it in Lightroom desktop, unless I'm in a rush to publish it, in which case I will edit it right on my phone.  In this post I will share some of my favorite iPhone shots taken in and around Saratoga.

I snapped this photo of my grandmother on her porch during one of our socially distanced social calls last summer.  Click here to see more of my "socially distanced summer" photos.

I spotted this cat while out on a walk.  I added a little bokeh in Photoshop.

These flowers were located in front of the Grove Apartments in Saratoga last summer.

Fasig-Tipton is where thoroughbred horse sales are made in Saratoga each year.

Don't tell anyone that I edited the power lines out of this photo of the Oklahoma Training Track in Saratoga that I took last summer!

A photo I took of some houses in Saratoga last summer.

The owners of this property put horses and jockeys on their sidewalk.  I added a little bokeh in Photoshop.

I added a little extra magic to the sun flare in this photo with Luminar.  Click here to order a print of this photo.

These jockeys are located outside the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga.  I was fortunate enough to have my photo selected to be displayed there last year as part of their second annual "Photo Finish" juried exhibition.

I took this photo on a beautiful fall afternoon in Saratoga.

When I spotted this little toad, I only had my phone with me, but he let me get up close for this shot, as well as the one in the title card.

I photographed this statue of Secretariat outside the National Museum of Racing.  The portrait mode didn't work perfectly so I touched it up in Photoshop.

A house in Saratoga had this jockey with a mask on.  Once again, the portrait mode had some issues that had to be fixed up in Photoshop.

I took this photo of Congress Park Centre in Saratoga years ago on my iPhone 5c.

This is the barn at Old Friends at Cabin Creek in Greenfield where I volunteer.  Click here to order a print of this photo.  I donate 100% of my profits from print sales of photos taken at Old Friends at Cabin Creek back to the farm.

I captured this photo of Mr. Cowboy at Old Friends at Cabin Creek in the fall.  Click here to order a print of this photo.

Ah, just one more photo of Old Friends.  It looks so magical in fall!  Click here to order a print of this photo.

Zoe is a sweet therapy dog who brings cheer to staff and students at the school where I teach.

I took this photo of Quincy of Nipper Knolls Equine Center a couple of falls ago.  I added the bokeh in Photoshop.  Click here to order a print of the photo.  I donate 100% of my profits front print sales of photos taken at Nipper Knolls back to the organization.

I also used my photo to do a "portrait" of my gear for my gear post.
