Autumn in New York
Living only about a three hour car ride from New York, I've visited the city numerous times, but never in Autumn until just last week. Last Saturday I took a day trip with my family and met up with a friend from college who lives in the city. I took more than a few photos with my new fisheye lens, and I visited some areas I had never been to before.
The bus dropped us off in Bryant Park, which, although small, is quite nice. Next on the agenda was the American Museum of Natural History. I had never been, so it was neat to see all of the exhibits. The ocean life exhibit was my favorite. I also loved all of the dioramas of different terrains, which were fun to capture with the fisheye.
Next it was all the way downtown to the 9/11 memorial. If you're visiting New York and you've never been the the 9/11 memorial, it's a must see. It's incredibly moving and well done.
On victims' birthdays, a white rose is placed on their name.
Up next was Central Park. The foliage was just hitting peak, so it was just gorgeous!

Next we head down 5th Avenue (if you couldn't tell by now we did a lot of walking!) and I got this shot of the Atlas statue and St. Patrick's Cathedral with my fisheye. I know it's been done before but I couldn't resist!

Bethesda Terrace is gorgeous. I had never been there before this trip!

Eventually, we ended at Rockefeller Center to watch the skaters on the rink before calling it a day. I can't wait to go back next month to capture the holiday spirit!

Beautiful shots with your new fisheye lens. Been hoping to catch up and come over to your blog for a while now. We had a snow day down here in Texas and finally had a chance.
